White Salmon River - Half-Day

Spectacular half day whitewater rafting class III-IV trip on the White Salmon River, including Wet Planet's signature "Upper Stretch" adding 2 miles of class IV whitewater, and optional class IV/V Husum Falls water - levels permitting.

3-Day Beginner Kayak Instruction

Based out of our riverside headquarters in the Columbia River Gorge, our 3-day beginner kayak courses are designed to provide novice kayakers with the fundamental skills needed to begin kayaking on Class I and II whitewater. Progressing from the pool and slow moving water on day one, to class II whitewater on days two and three, we will practice basic boat handling, eddy-turns and peel-outs, ferrying, water reading, self-rescue techniques, and safe paddling techniques.

2-Day Beginner Kayak Instruction

Based out of our riverside headquarters in the Columbia River Gorge, our 2-day "Rapid Progression" beginner kayak courses are designed to provide novice kayakers with the fundamental skills needed to begin kayaking on Class I and II whitewater. Progressing from the pool and slow moving water on day one, to class II whitewater on day two, we will practice basic boat handling, eddy-turns and peel-outs, ferrying, water reading, self-rescue techniques, and safe paddling techniques.

Intermediate Kayak Instruction

White Salmon River - Full-Day

Combining a morning of incredible whitewater through our popular Upper White Salmon River and Husum Falls section with an afternoon rafting through the most beautiful canyons of the White Salmon on the Lower Lower section, this full-day trip has it all:  

- the Upper section with 2 miles of extra class III-IV whitewater and a cliff jump at BZ Falls  
- the middle White Salmon, including the option to run 12' tall Husum Falls  
- a hot riverside lunch at Wet Planet  
- a journey through the canyons formed by the previous lake and the historical site of Condit Dam  
- a chance to see the newly formed Lower Lower section and the spectacular Narrows Canyon  
- amazing views of Mt Hood as you complete your journey at the Columbia River

6-Day Main Salmon River Rafting Trip

Transport yourself into the mountains and true wilderness of Idaho’s Main Salmon River, where big water splashes, warm sandy beaches, and rugged scenery fill your multi-day river trip. This 6-day adventure of travelling with family or friends deeper into the river canyons each day, while camping at night under clear starry skies, is a unique experience that is sure to create memories that last a lifetime.

Beginner Refresher Kayak Instruction

This course is for students who have been introduced to basic skills of whitewater kayaking, typically through a 2 or 3-day beginner kayak course. You understand wet-exits, eddy turns, peel-outs, and ferries, but are still working on mastering them. This refresher course will give you the opportunity to refresh previously learned skills by joining the 2nd or 3rd day of a beginner kayak course.

Novice Kayak Instruction Course

This course is designed for the advanced beginner or aspiring intermediate, who already has basic whitewater kayaking skills, wants to improve his or her technique, or is looking to develop new skills. In this course, we will work on refining the basics and feeling solid in class II whitewater.

Kid's Kayak Progression Course

This 3-week paddling progression will help advanced youth kayakers hone essential paddling skills and give them the tools they need to have fun, successful days on the river! Every Monday for three weeks, we will focus on different techniques and skills to build a well-rounded foundation, fine-tune basic skills, focus on proper-technique, and of course – have fun!  

This 3-week progression is designed for kids who already have a foundation of basic skills and are comfortable paddling easy Class II whitewater. This is a great next step for kids who have continued kayaking after our Level 3 Kids Camp, and paddle somewhat regularly outside of Wet Planet. If they haven’t paddled since their last camp, they should take Level 3 again.

Kids' Kayak Camp - Level 1

Get Your Kids Out on the River in a Kayak this summer! In line with our philosophy of sharing our passion for river running with our guests, our 4-day kayaking program for kids will help build skills, confidence, and an appreciation for the beautiful area we live in, and learn the invaluable knowledge necessary to play safely in the water environment! Level 1 camp is for children ages 9-12 brand new to the sport or those who are still becoming “comfortable” in a kayak on the water.

Kids' Kayak Camp - Level 2

Level 2 camp is for children ages 10-13 who have previously taken a Wet Planet Kids Camp and want to take it to the next level! This is a chance for your kids to refresh the skills they’ve learned, advance their progression, and maximize their time on the river. We strive to have every child leave camp prepared with increased confidence, new skills and knowledge, and excited to be on the water in a kayak.
